FAQs

What can I do to help my wig stay on better?

Your Stylist can help you determine if alterations are needed to your wig.  They can also show you a moisture wicking liner that is adhered to the inside of your wig that can help keep it from slipping.

How often should I wash my wig?

The manufacturer recommends washing your wig every 6-8 wears.  Environment, styling product use, and general lifestyle must be considered.

Can I sleep in my wig?

It is not recommended as it can lessen the integrity of the fiber/human hair and cap, and cause tangling.  Back To You includes with your wig purchase a Soft Cap to wear while sleeping and a wig stand and clamp to keep your wig looking beautiful.

What kind of products should I use to care for my wig?

Back To You includes a travel size of the suggested products with your wig purchase.  Your Stylist can help you pick additional products from our catalog.

How long will my wig take to dry after washing?

Depending on the fiber, your wig can take from 12-24 hours to dry completely.  Synthetic and HD fibers do not absorb water and will dry much faster than human hair, yet the cap materials will hold water and take longer to dry.  The manufacture recommends that you allow your synthetic and HD wigs to air dry naturally on a wig stand.  Use your blow dryer and heat styling tools to dry your human hair products to maintain smooth and manageable hair.  Back To You includes travel size products, a wig stand, mannequin head and clamp with your wig purchase to help take care of your wig.

What temperature should I use on my HD wig?

The manufacture recommends using between 270 and 280 degrees F.

Am I able to blow dry my HD wig?

You are able to blow dry your HD wig on a cool setting.  The manufacturer recommends that you allow this fiber to air dry naturally for best results which will take an hour.

Can I color/perm my human hair wig/hair piece?

A human hair wig/hair piece can be colored; however, due to the processing that has been done to the hair by the manufacturer we recommend scheduling a consult with your stylist to look like your best self.

Will my Health Insurance pay for my wig?

Please see “How to file your Request for Reimbursement with your Health Insurance Company” which will go into detail on what is needed and steps to request reimbursement.  Back To You can also submit your request for you.
